
Mark Manning
Chief Scientific Officer |
Dr. Manning has been involved in the development of biopharmaceutical products since 1988, when he joined the faculty at the University of Kansas. He then moved to the University of Colorado, where he helped found the Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, what is widely considered to be the leading educational program in the country for training formulation scientists to handle biotechnology-based products. Dr. Manning has consulted for over 40 companies on a wide variety of projects. In addition, he has directed numerous formulation development projects for clients, first as Chief Technical Officer for HTD BioSystems and then as Chief Scientific Officer for Legacy BioDesign. Dr. Manning has published over 100 scientific articles, holds five US patents, and has edited three books on protein formulation. Dr. Manning received an A.B. degree in chemistry from Hope College and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University. He conducted post-doctoral work at Colorado State University. |

Susan Manning
President |
Susan Manning is President of Legacy BioDesign LLC and is responsible for the financial, logistical, and personnel aspects of the operation. She attended Colorado State University and is a successful sole proprietor in her own right. Under her leadership, Legacy BioDesign has exhibited significant growth each year, with clients in seven countries around the world. |

Dr. Robert W. Payne
Senior Scientist |
Dr. Payne is Senior Scientist, overseeing formulation and assay development projects. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology from the University of Colorado at Denver. After graduation, Robby worked at Nektar for three years on various projects, including Exubera, in the analytical group. Dr. Payne received his Ph.D. from Dr. Charles Henry at Colorado State University on predicting the physical stability of biopolymers. |

Dr. Brian Murphy
Scientist |
Dr. Murphy is a Scientist with Legacy BioDesign, having joined in 2009. He received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Portland in Portland, OR. Brian went on to receive his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Colorado State University with thesis work on immunoassay development and capillary electrophoresis.

Gabe Evans
Project Manager |
Gabe Evans is Project Manager at Legacy BioDesign. He conducted work at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center prior to joining Legacy. Gabe holds a B.S. degree from Southwest Baptist University. He performs SIC and capillary electrophoresis analyses, in addition to his other duties. |

Michael A. Mann
Web Site Administrator

Michael Mann joined Legacy BioDesign in September 2009 as the Web Site Administrator. Michael holds an associates degree from Grand Rapids Community College. He worked for more than twelve years as a transportation dispatcher as well as a billing and payroll clerk. Most recently, Michael served as the web administrator for his church in Grand Rapids, MI. |
